Front Panel Stereo Sockets Board for ubitx with our universal case for ubitx
The new 8 pin female to female Relimate connectors with TVS Relimate connectors are working great and have made it easy to build the front panel and fit with ease. All functions are working good.
uBitx Panel Board For Stereo Sockets
The front panel board for stereo sockets is meant to connect with the Analog and Digital pins on the ubitx board, this board works for the ubitx version 3 and 4 boards.
The layout of the board is as follows:
VOLUME CONTROL complete wiring front panel
- From Left Top 3 Pins are for volume and need to be connected with a relimate connector to 10K Volume control, High,Mid,Ground wires Black Brown Red as in picture below.
The connections of wiring are as per ubitx schematic, if you find volume control function in reverse then switch wires black and red on the 10k potentiometer.
MICROPHONE & PTT
The microphone used in the ubitx can be a dynamic one or a condenser type, the default mic supplied with ubitx is condenser one. For using a dynamic mic a .33uf tantalum capacitor needs to be installed in series with the mic.
We have used a Chinese condenser handheld microphone with our mic XLR socket ,the labels on mic connections are given, use the XLR mic socket as per your microphones connections.
The Bottom Left corner of the 3 pin connector is for the MIC PTT AND GROUND .Use the 3 Pin relimate wire and solder wire on XLR connector as per suitable length. If your microphone is a commercial one or default one you need to check connections accordingly, with the ubitx provided mic connections as given below will work okay.
Also you could use the stereo socket mic instead of the XLR connector. It has both functions of mic and ptt. You would require to use a Stereo Plug And Condenser Mic And 2 pair shielded wire and house the parts in a plastic case.
Chinese Hand Held Condenser Microphone .
An 8 ohms or 4 ohms speaker works well with the ubitx version 3 board.
The right side 2 pin relimate connectors is for the speaker . Take a 2 pin relimate wire , do not cut it and solder the bare wire end to the speaker and other end plug into the board.
The wire is long enough so if you take off the cover then it want UN- plug from the board.
The rotary encoder is mounted on a small board supplied with the kit, this board makes the wiring neat or it looks untidy with wires soldered on the encoder pins directly.
The wires coming out from the board with a 4 PIN relimate connector are to be connected to the encoder board as per details provided below.
ORANGE WIRE = FUNCTION BUTTON
RED WIRE = ENCODER A
BROWN WIRE = GROUND
BLACK WIRE = ENCODER A
Do not reverse the the wire while plugging on to the board.
ANALOG AND DIGITAL PINS
The analogue and digital pins of the ubitx board are connected with 8 PIN female to female connectors which are plug in type.
While connecting them observe the correct polarity as per color code of wire as HF signal website, we have also given picture below.
